Data-Driven Rivers
Detect plastic pollution before it reaches the sea
Monitoring and prevention of plastic pollution in rivers so the municipality knows what waste is heading to the sea and can act earlier.
A first municipal project to understand what waste flows through the river, generate your own data and decide where to act.
- Plastic monitoring in the river.
- Water sampling.
- Passive filtration buoy.
- Traceable, visible data.
- Prevention before waste reaches the sea.

Monitoring
Continuous data on plastic in the river.
Sampling
Regular water analysis.
Visible data
Traceable, accessible information.
Prevention
Act before it reaches the sea.
Optional next phase:
Floating retention barrier
Plastic Capture in Rivers
A local, simple and effective system to stop pollution before it reaches the sea.
Barriers are placed at strategic points on rivers to capture plastic waste and extract data for analysis.
- 8–12 million tonnes of plastic reach the ocean every year
- 80% comes from rivers and coasts
- 1,600 rivers account for most of this pollution
On-site implementation
A preliminary study to choose the strategic location on one of the country's main river arteries, where large volumes of plastic waste are carried towards the ocean. Installing barriers makes it possible to capture this waste before it disperses and to extract data for later analysis.

A first project to find out what waste is heading to the sea before it gets there.
