We Use Data to Regenerate Oceans.

We turn every action into knowledge to regenerate marine and coastal ecosystems.

We know that plastic pollution is present in our oceans.

And it affects ecosystems, communities and economic activities.

However, the available information remains insufficient, fragmented and difficult to compare across territories.

What we need to know

  • WHERE

    it is concentrated

  • WHEN

    it appears and evolves

  • WHY

    it accumulates

  • WHAT IMPACT

it has on the environment and the economy

  • HOW MUCH

performance it takes away from the blue economy

Closing that knowledge gap is the starting point of Universal Plastic.

IMPACT IS NOT MEASURED IN KILOGRAMS ALONE.

We turn collective action into environmental and economic evidence to support better decisions.

For years, the response to marine plastic pollution has been measured almost exclusively by the kilograms of waste removed. It is a visible metric, but an insufficient one to understand what a region is truly losing.

Pollution also affects biodiversity, tourism, fisheries, coastal services and blue economy productivity. Yet these environmental and economic costs rarely reach decision-makers with sufficient clarity.

Every action generates data.

Every data point reveals environmental and economic impact.

Every piece of evidence helps protect the ocean and strengthen the blue economy.

From the Field to Global Knowledge.

Every data point follows a traceable, connected and actionable journey.

1 · Local Action

We observe and record plastic pollution.

2 · Traceable Data

We process and integrate the information into ONDAs Data Space.

3 · Global Knowledge

We connect data with UNESCO-IOC’s ODIS and contribute to SDG 14.

Every local action contributes to SDG 14 and the UN Decade of Ocean Science.

Local Data. Global Knowledge. Better Decisions for the Ocean.

Plastic Pollution Is Visible. Its Real Impact Is Not.

Fragmented monitoring, disconnected datasets and isolated interventions make it difficult for governments and coastal operators to understand where pollution is accumulating, what is at risk, its economic impact and which actions should be prioritised.

”Blue Resilience turns fragmented data into decisions that protect ecosystems and reduce economic impact.
